I hope this is okay because it says it's the place for comments.

The new layout is gorgeous! I love the colors and it's so neat and organized. Bravo.

Oh and I remember a background/desktop bg that someone had made last year with the header photo. I don't remember who made it but it's still on my desktop and I love it. Kudos. ♥

Thank you. Hillary made the layout and I sat there and told her what to change and how.. so the credit really goes to her but I'll pass the word along.

Also the credit for that B&G pic is in the info. I also had it on my desktop for a long time. It's gorgeous.

A beta is like an editor. They check through your story for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other technical aspects as well as story content; flow, characterizations, etc. They give you help to make your story better.

I belive they call it a 'beta' based on the Greek alphabet Alpha (is you.. the person who wrote it.. and you're person #1) then next person to see it is the editor. Beta (your number two)

Some betas are better at certain things more than other things. Me, for example. I Beta for Mandie. Mandie is a journalist by trade so the technical stuff is covered by her amazingness but I basically look the story over for conceptual story based issues. Like if her Bert is too whiney or a sentence seems to flow poorly. When Mandie beta's my stuff she looks at the story bits as well as the thechnical stuff. It really depends on the beta and what they are best at.

I'm gonna be setting up the Beta list here hopefully tonight and then you can find a beta easily if you need one.

HELLOO.

I reckon there should be a Kriss Kringle/ Secret Santa fic swap thingy.

I'm not quite sure how this would work... cause you're supposed to guess the gift giver's identity, but I'm not all that smart.

Either this or some other challenge would be really good to revive the community a little.

Unless you guys already have one in the works.... I might be a step behind.
